# Insight

**Insights** are durable knowledge artifacts captured from conversations ([Data Rooms](/concepts/data-room.md)) and related sources. Each insight (also referred to as a note) contains summarized understanding, provenance, and links to underlying messages and document references. Insights let you persist, share, and reuse what a conversation discovered.

#### When to use Insights

* **You need persistent takeaways**: Capture conclusions and key facts from a long or multi-session conversation.
* **You want shareable knowledge**: Provide teammates with vetted summaries instead of full transcripts.
* **You need provenance**: Keep links to documents and messages to support verification and re-processing.
* **You automate follow-ups**: Feed insights into workflows (CRM updates, reports, tasks) without re-parsing raw chat.
